Nottinghamshire Police uses the internet selling site eBay to advertise its unwanted items for sale, helping to bring thousands of pounds back into Force budgets.

What items will be listed for sale?

Nottinghamshire Police will only list genuinely unwanted, force-owned assets for sale on the Nottinghamshire Police eBay store. Examples of items that have previously been listed for sale include:

  • Computer monitors
  • Printer toners and cartridges
  • DVD recorders
  • Cameras, lenses, tripods and other equipment
  • Vacuum cleaners and floor polishers

Strict procedures have been introduced to ensure that no items will be listed for sale that:

  • Could contain police information, such as computers or mobile phones.
  • Have been seized through the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
  • Have been handed into a police station as lost and found property.

How much has eBay helped the Force to make back?

During the 2015/16 financial year, Nottinghamshire Police raised £5,600 through the sale of unwanted items on its eBay store.

These funds would not have otherwise been available to Nottinghamshire Police and will now be put to good use elsewhere within the Force.

Who can I contact for more information?
